My youngest son was invited to a friend's 4th birthday party -- and since his friend is a girl, I couldn't help but make her a little purse! I had fun experimenting by gathering the opening with some 1/4" elastic. The flap closes with a large flower button and hangs on the shoulder with satin ribbon. (My son picked out the button and the fabric. He wanted to put a bright red fabric with rocket ships on the inside of the purse, but I did a Jedi wave of my hand and convinced him white would be just right.) :)
